BHA/P Instructor Donna Henry

My name is Donna Henry.  I am excited to join the ANTHC BHA program as an instructor.  My background is in mental health and substance abuse counseling working with adults and children as a Licensed professional counselor supervisor and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor.  I am originally from the east coast but have happily called Alaska my home for 17 years.  I obtained a B.S in Forensic Psychology, a MS.Ed. In Education and Counseling and am currently in the dissertation phase for a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision.  I strongly believe in promoting the behavioral health counseling field.  Over the years, I have worked in rural Alaska for several tribal health organizations and currently reside in Anchorage.

I am passionate about helping individuals achieve their highest potential, focusing on each person’s self-determined life goals.  Systemically, I believe that change comes from all individuals working towards a common goal.  I believe in the importance of providing each person with the encouragement  and guidance they need to achieve the best possible result for themselves, and that inclusivity and cultural respect are paramount to effective and ethical care.

In my spare time I enjoy hiking with my fur babies and friends, spending time with family and friends, and engaging in fiber arts (as best I can).  I am super excited to be working with all of you!
