Certification Board
The Certification Board was created in 1998 by the federal government and charged with formalizing standards
and procedures for Community Health Aide/Dental Health Aide/Behavioral Health Aide training, practice and certification.
As the governing board of the CHA/DHA/BHA programs, its function is to certify training centers and individual aides at all levels of training. Members represent the Indian Health Service, state of Alaska, CHAP training, CHAP directors, medicine, dentistry, behavioral health and CHA/Ps.
